BUDDING artists could win £500 by designing the new Cheshire West and Chester Council’s logo.
The authority wants the symbol to make it look dynamic, forward-looking, inspiring, professional, fresh and innovative.
The new council comes into being in April 2009, replacing the borough council, its counterparts in Chester and Vale Royal, and the county council. It will be responsible for every single council service from bins, roads and libraries to social care and education.
Member of the new council’s Shadow Authority, Cllr Myles Hogg, who is the Customer Services Portfolio Holder, said: “We’d like the logo to reflect the aims of the new council and utilise a symbol that is based on the area or its heritage or, indeed, its people.
The competition is open to all residents and businesses in Cheshire West and Chester, including employees from its existing councils. It closes at noon on Friday, August 29.
