THE M6 has become the focus of a massive road safety campaign led by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service.
It is working alongside police colleagues to put in place a highly visible presence along the M6 corridor in a bid to promote road safety.
Staff will be on hand at each M6 service station to chat to drivers about how to stay safe on the roads.
County road safety manager Martin Dowle said: “Thousands die on British roads each year and many of these are on motorways.
“We want to use this event to really raise awareness of the big killers on our roads – things such as driving while too tired and not leaving enough space between you and the car in front.”
People are being encouraged to go and talk to the teams at the service stations, where they can pick up some lifesaving safety advice. The M6 is the UK’s longest motorway.
