BLUE Planet Aquarium could soon be the official home to the longest ivy in the world.

A devil’s ivy at the award-winning Cheshire Oaks attraction has grown to more than 10 metres in length, sparking hopes it could be a record breaker.

The aquarium’s assistant maintenance manager, Geoff Coleman – who has been caring for it since it was planted more than two years ago – has contacted Guinness World Records to see if it really is a world beater.

Geoff said: “The plants were brought into the aquarium during autumn 2007 and since then they have shown no sign of slowing down.”

Devil’s ivy is native to the Solomon Islands in the Pacific Ocean.
