WINSFORD United have only three more home league games before the end of the season.
The Blues are paying now for a glut of Barton Stadium fixtures in the first half of the season.
They have eight away league games before their campaign closes on April 22, but things are not too bad for fans because United have two cup home ties – Bootle, in the Vodkat League Cup semi-final on March 22 and Congleton in the Mid Cheshire Senior Cup final on April 1.
They hit the road on Saturday, bound for Atherton LR and on Tuesday visit Newcastle Town.
They remain on their travels the following week for the first leg tie at Bootle, by which time leading scorer Les Miranda should have recovered from his broken toe. The return leg is a week later.
The Blues run-in then reads: March 25, St Helens away; 29 Trafford home; April 5 Bacup away; 7 Atherton Colleries away; 12 Abbey Hey home; 15 Squires Gate away; 19 Colne away and 22 Formby home.
United may have another game should they beat Bootle and meet either Maine Road or Chadderton in the League Cup final.
