WINSFORD’S booming business district celebrated its continued success at a glittering awards evening this week.
The inaugural Winsford 1-5 Business Awards at the civic hall on Thursday were attended by more than 150 people.
Business leaders and borough delegates including mayor Cllr Doug Shingler were out in force for the event, which was organised by Vale Royal Council and Groundwork Cheshire to celebrate the “tremendous” success of the Winsford Industrial Estate.
Estate manager Mike Kelly, from Groundwork, looks after the estate’s 4,000 employees and 100-plus companies.
He said: “The estate was the first in the country to become a Business Improvement District and the companies based there have worked alongside the borough and Groundwork to create a thriving business community.”
