A BUDDING film-maker who makes wedding videos in his spare time wants the public’s help in making a movie about Ellesmere Port.

Paul Kearney, of Stanney Lane, says he has dreamed of becoming a professional film-maker for years, an ambition that has become stronger through his part-time work as a videographer.

His goal is to make a film from scratch, based entirely in Ellesmere Port, and he is on the lookout for locals with ideas, talents and enthusiasm.

Paul, 30, said: “Like most people who nurture dreams, goals and aspirations, we rarely live them, but I would really like to make a movie here in the Port as part of my dream.

“Ellesmere Port has some really interesting locations, like the boat museum, the docks and many parks and I’m looking for people to get involved with me.”

“I need ideas and scripts, actors and actresses and anyone else who wants to be a part of the camera work, sound recording and editing process.

“I can't pay anybody but filmmaking is a passion and a love affair, and like most professionals working in the film industry, you start with nothing.”

Paul, who owns much of his ownequipment, said all he needs is people with ‘good ideas, passion and willing’.

“I know we can do this here in Ellesmere Port,” he adds.

“I’m no expert; I’ve made a few short films and documentaries and I produce a few wedding DVDs, but if we can achieve making our film, we can be the first people to say we made a film in our town and, maybe, it won't be our last!”
