AMSTERDAM frontman Ian Prowse says he got an ‘incredible’ response from the families of the Hillsborough victims after playing at a gig to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the disaster.
Ian, who hails from Little Sutton, performed Does this Train Stop on Merseyside? during the Kop Of The Pops show at Liverpool’s O2 Academy.
He said: “The feedback from the relatives was incredible.
“People there knew the song about Hillsborough, and there’s no backing music for some of the lines about the tragedy – it’s a cappella, so they were not easy to sing in front of the families of those that died.”
