CASTELL Alun High School in Hope has produced another fine performance at GCSE level this year.
The overall GCSE entry pass rate (A*-G) was 99.5%, with 71% of all Year 11 grades lying in the A*-C category.
Three students – Colin Nolan, Rhys Roberts and Tansy Williams – all scored seven A* grades in full course subjects, plus two further A grades.
Castell Alun will now welcome a record number of students into its sixth form in September.
Deputy headteacher, Anne Mackin, said: “The Castell Alun team is delighted for all our students who have given an excellent account of themselves. Students, teachers, support team colleagues and of course parents have worked tirelessly together to ensure the children have fulfilled their potential and we are thrilled for each and every student.”
Student development manager for the Year 11 cohort, Neil Eve, added: “We wish them well and will welcome the majority back in September to join our sixth form.”
