THE Card Factory is giving people affected by cancer a special gift this Christmas by donating £1m to Macmillan Cancer Support.
The retailer, which has a branch in Marina Walk, Ellesmere Port, is showcasing its new Christmas card packs, specially designed to celebrate the company’s partnership with Macmillan in stores across the North West.
ITV’s Coleen Nolan presented the £1m on behalf of the company.
The Loose Women presenter and self-confessed greetings card fanatic was delighted to hand over such a substantial sum to Macmillan.
She said: “A million pounds is an amazing donation and definitely something to celebrate. The money has the potential to make a difference to thousands of lives.
“Macmillan Cancer Support depends on the generosity of companies and individuals to continue the excellent work they do with cancer sufferers and their families.”
Card Factory will be continuing its support of Macmillan through its Christmas card packs in 400 stores nationwide.
Customers can make their own donation to the cause by visiting their local Card Factory store.
