THE search is on for green-fingered residents in Frodsham as Weaver Vale Housing Trust launches its annual gardening competition.

The Trust is once again looking for the best horticultural pickings its tenants have to offer – and this year there is a new category.

In addition to the prize for best house garden (any size), best container/patio garden and best sheltered scheme garden, a prize will also be given for the best vegetable garden.

All entries will be judged on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 14 and 15, by the Trust’s landscape officer, Brian Pearson, and an independent adjudicator.

Mr Pearson said: “Last year’s competition was certainly a huge success and with the brand new category we hope more green- fingered residents than ever will get involved.”

Entry to the competition is free, and the winner in each category will receive £75-worth of gardening vouchers.

All customers who wish to enter the competition should contact the Trust by visiting or ringing 01606 813300 and return a completed entry form by Monday, June 29, along with four colour images of their garden.
