CHESHIRE Victim Support welcomed a VIP guest for a fundraising lunch it held at Nunsmere Hall Hotel, Oakmere.

The Cheshire-born writer Tim Firth, best known for his films Calendar Girls and newest feature The Wedding Video, enjoyed the event, which was well attended by past and present volunteers, staff and their friends.

The afternoon was guided by Master of Ceremonies Bob Garner and a total of £500 was raised from the event.

Proceeds will go toward helping victims and witnesses across the county through the independent charity, Cheshire Victim Support. Nationally, the group contacts more than 1.5 million victims of crime each year to help.
