A COUPLE who help maintain an award-winning water pump in Upton have received recognition for their efforts.
Peter and Doreen Ellis, of Upton, have been looking after the village feature on Heath Road, near the Wheatsheaf pub, for several years.
Their work to keep the pump and its surrounding area tidy resulted in Upton by Chester and District Parish Council receiving a Little Gem accolade for the pump.
Members of the grateful parish council decided to reward Peter and Doreen by handing them a copy of the certificate honour they received.
Peter and Doreen were also given gardening vouchers.
