A WOMAN is in a critical condition following a collision on the A534 Wrexham Road near Nantwich.
The 39-year-old was a pillion passenger on a white Triumph Tiger motorbike which was travelling towards Wrexham when it collided with a silver Honda Jazz travelling in the opposite direction at about 12.16pm on Saturday last week.
The woman, from Congleton, suffered serious injuries to her legs and abdomen and was airlifted to North Staffs Hospital.
The rider of the motorbike, a 51-year-old man also from the Congleton area, received serious injuries and was taken to Leighton Hospital where his condition is described as stable.
One fire engine from Nantwich and one from Crewe attended the incident, which was near to Woodside Cottage in Faddiley, to release the man and woman from underneath the car.
The driver of the Honda Jazz, a female from the Farndon area near Chester, was uninjured.
Police have issued an appeal urging anyone who witnessed the collision and has information to call Cheshire police on 101.
