TV CHEFS The Hairy Bikers used a Chester bistro to dish up a surprise for a deserving couple.

Recently renamed city restaurant Bouchon, formerly known Francs Brasserie on Cuppin Street, played host to the much-loved chefs for an episode of their ‘Everyday Gourmet’ series, entitled ‘Restaurant Revelations’ which aired on BBC 2 earlier this month.

Si King and Dave Myers used the elegantly redesigned eaterie to conjure up a restaurant quality meal on the tightest of budgets to spoil two foster parents from North Wales with the help of their three daughters.

The much-loved cooking duo picked up insider secrets from Michelin starred chefs throughout the show before setting up in head chef Michael Hughes kitchen at Bouchon.

Brenden Moradi, joint-owner of Bouchon with Michael, said: “The foster parents thought that they were going to the restaurant for an annual foster carer dinner.

“But when they were taken up to our Private Dining Room and the Hairy Bikers sat them down to a champagne gourmet dinner the surprise factor really kicked in.

“Their daughters worked really hard alongside the Hairy Bikers to create the dishes for their parents and it was a great pleasure to watch on as they brought everything together.”

He added: “It was quite emotional for us all when their parents finally walked in.

“To see their reaction was fantastic – a truly well deserved treat for them both.”

The renovated eatery has recently been transformed, complete with plush boutique style seating, contemporary artwork, soft lighting and exquisite haute cuisine.

Bouchon is open seven days a week for lunch and six days for dinner service and includes a private dining room.
