A TUSHINGHAM Primary School pupil challenged himself to cycle 20 miles across the Cheshire countryside to raise money for Children in Need.

Harry Parkinson, nine, told his firefighter dad Ian just three weeks ago he wanted to raise money for charity.

His dad, who is always up for a challenge, decided a father and son cycle ride was ideal way to raise funds.

Ian said: “Harry wanted to help children, and his little brother Billy, now aged five, was in Alder Hey hospital in Liverpool when he was first born and the doctors there saved his life.ŠSo Children in Need was ideal.”

The pair raised more than £400 on the ride.
