THE perfect Christmas gift for anyone who likes to take a look back at history is on sale at the
Signed copies of the last in the best-selling Crewe Memory Chronicle. Lane series are an ideal festive present.
Retired Chronicle photographer Gordon Davies, pictured, has brought out the eagerly awaited Memory Lane Crewe Volume Six, which marks the end of an era.
The book is the last in a series which began when Gordon, 74, of Rigg Street, Crewe, published his first Memory Lane Crewe book in 2000.
Its combination of photographs of people and places within living memory became a local bestseller.
The result has been four more volumes plus a Memory Lane Nantwich and a Crewe Alexandra Remembered book.
Gordon said: 'When I produced the first book I thought it was such a task I would never do another. But so many asked me to do one more and offered me photographs that it just grew from there.'
Like all the others, the latest volume is packed with lively and poignant pictures.
Signed copies of Memory Lane Crewe Volume Six are on sale at the Chronicle office at 32-34 Victoria Street, Crewe, priced £14.99. Also on sale are earlier editions in the series including Volume Five.
