A TODDLER was locked in a car for 45 minutes after the doors closed with the keys on the floor.
Firefighters from Chester fire station arrived to attempt to free the child without damaging the vehicle but the father arrived with spare keys to save the day.
Firefighter Andrew Clarke from Chester fire station was at the scene at the park and ride car park in Boughton Heath yesterday afternoon (Monday, September 28).
He said: “The child was locked in the car and the keys were in the car and the doors closed.
“She was trapped in and the keys were on the floor.
“We attempted to get in the car for them but eventually the husband turned up with spare keys.
“We tried to cause as little damage as possible using hooks.
“The kid was quite happy to see us – she was quite cheery. She started crying a bit towards the end but was waving us off when we left.”
