TOTS at Tarvin Pre-school Nursery spent weeks raising money for Children in Need - only for a burglar to steal the lot.
The missing £215 also included money raised by parents to pay for the nursery's Christmas party.
The thief climbed through a window at the Heath Drive building between 2pm on Sunday and 8.15pm on Monday and forced a cabinet.
Nursery manager Lyn Jackson said: 'It is so mean, especially just before Christmas. We told the children a not-very-nice person has taken the money - they were upset but it's important for them to know.
'It's sad that the parents and community supported our Christmas fair and a bingo night to raise money for the party, and it now seems like someone from the community has stolen from their own.'
The Christmas party for 40 children aged two to four went ahead as planned on Monday but the pre-school - a registered charity - must now raise the extra money.
She added: 'We work really hard for every penny that we have, now someone has just come along and taken it.
'They haven't just stolen from our children, but from the children who would have benefited from the Pudsey Bear campaign.'
