THE DUKE of Westminster made a flying visit to a Chester primary school today – hours after becoming a grandfather for the first time.
A spokesman for the Duke said: “Lady Tamara Grosvenor and Edward van Cutsem are delighted to announce the birth of their son, named Jake, at 10pm on Thursday (May 22) at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, weighing 8lb 12 oz.
“Both mother and baby are doing well.”
After visiting his daughter in hospital, the Duke flew back to Chester the next morning, where he kept an appointment with youngsters at Saighton Primary School.
He spent 45 minutes touring the school and chatting with pupils.
When asked about the new arrival, the Duke described him as “very noisy”.
Lady Tamara, 28, and Edward van Cutsem were married at Chester Cathedral in November 2004.
Their wedding was attended by Queen Elizabeth II and other prominent members of the Royal Family.
