A lucky group of pupils had a fun, inspirational and sometimes challenging week on the recent Queen’s ski trip to Austria.
The trip saw 51 senior school girls fly to Zell am See to take part in a week’s ski lessons and apres-ski activities including beach volleyball, football, cinema and a disco. They also included a day’s shopping trip to Zell in their itinerary.
The group stayed in a state of the art youth hostel with all facilities on site.
Skiing was arranged in five groups ranging from complete beginners to advanced skiers which allowed all girls to improve technique, speed and gain confidence.
Beginners were able to use the moving walkway green slopes and use the big open blue runs, intermediates skied blue and some red runs, while the advanced group took on the whole range of runs across the resort.
Head of PE at Queen’s Gemma Glynn said: “The girls were absolutely fantastic throughout this trip and made us all very proud. From parallel turns and carving to keeping their rooms tidy and feeling unwell, they rose to every challenge and represented the true spirit of Queen’s in their behaviour and attitude.”
