FORMER Animal Hospital presenter Rolf Harris has paid tribute to a team of lifesavers.
With his copy of the Chronicle in hand, Rolf arrived unannounced at Cheshire Pets Medical Centre in Alsager Road, Winterley, to thank fellow Aussie, vet Cameron Muir and his team for saving the life of Max the cat.
Two weeks ago the Chronicle reported the acclaimed artist had sent the team a handwritten tribute and personalised caricature after his close friend Barbara Adams, of Hassell Road, rushed her pet Max to the surgery after he was hit by a car and suffered a fractured pelvis.
Cameron, 40, said: 'Last Tuesday, I was in a consultation and just looked out of the window and said to my client 'There's Rolf Harris!' It was a complete surprise.
'We were honoured to receive the painting from Rolf but this is the icing on the cake. We had our picture taken and it will take pride of place on the surgery wall. He was a really nice guy, down to earth and good fun.
'Rolf just wanted to say thanks to the team for their hard work while looking after Max and for giving up their bank holiday to fix him up.'
