GHOST hunters and spirit seekers are dared to see what goes bump in the night at the Crown Hotel in Tarporley.
Landlady Pat Cardus is challenging people to spend a night with the spooks and raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
The 18th century coach house stands in the centre of the village and has a reputation for its ghosts. Over the years landlords and regulars have heard many weird sounds including the footsteps of a child and rattling coat hangers in the bedrooms.
Pat said: “Many people who have stayed here have reported strange goings on, and unexplained noises and movements. There is one room which is particularly spooky, it is always cold and visitors have reported seeing a little girl playing there.”
The organisers have asked the North West Spirit Seekers to bring crystals, thermometers and cameras to detect the ghosts.
A team of mediums and ghosts specialists will help make contact with those from beyond the grave. The Fright Night will take place on Friday, October 17.
Participants must raise a minimum of £120 in sponsorship, which includes a room at the hotel after the investigation – if you can manage to sleep.
