DRIVERS on Boston Avenue in Runcorn will be landed with a hefty fine if they break the 30mph speed limit.
Last week, one of the Cheshire Safety Camera Partnership's distinctive speed enforcement vehicles was positioned on the dangerous road.
Statistics reveal that between January 2002 and December 2004, 24 people were injured in vehicle collisions between Morval Crescent and Heath Road - two of them seriously.
Lee Murphy, the project manager for the Partnership, said: 'Speed surveys show 82% of traffic exceeds the speed limit on Boston Avenue.
'One of the results of this behaviour has been too many people being hurt.
'We will be using highly visible vans and have had new signs put up to remind drivers that speed enforcement will take place.
'Hopefully this will encourage drivers to slow down and remember that the speed limit is the maximum permissible and should not be seen as a target.'
