A SKATE park will soon be up and running in Frodsham.
Funded by Vale Royal Borough Council, Frodsham Town Council and various other business grants, the facility will add to the borough council's leisure complex at Saltworks Farm, Ship Street.
Schoolchildren helped to design the skate park and project manager Groundwork Cheshire is aiming to complete it in time for the summer holidays.
Frodsham's Mayor, Dennis Taylor, said his 10-year-old grandson was one of many youths eager to try it out.
'It's been a while coming so I'll be glad to see it open and, hopefully, youngsters will make good use of it,' he said. 'It's on a good open space and should be a super facility.'
Vale Royal development officer for play and young people, Evelyn Rees, said: 'I know local children are very excited. The design and layout will be geared to how children skate and the sort of thrill rides they are looking for.'
