SHOCKLACH Oviatt C of E Primary school pupils end their summer term on a high knowing that they are going to an outstanding school.
A recent Ofsted inspection found that the school was outstanding in all respects.
Inspector Roger Gill said: “Leadership is particularly effective because the headteacher has skilfully created a climate in which everyone feels involved in the decision making progress, including pupils. The drive for improvement is relentless.”
He added: “The strong sense of community in school is mirrored by beneficial links within the local community, productive learning partnerships with other schools locally and abroad.”
Chair of Governors Kate Soragna said: “The Headteacher, Mrs Hinchliffe, is to be congratulated. “Outstanding” is just reward for her hard work, commitment and vision, and the strong relationships she has engendered with her staff.”
Head Teacher, Kathryn Hinchliffe, added: “We are extremely pleased to be a valuable, confident and successful part of this lively rural community. When the school, the Church, the Parish Council and the Pub work closely together it is a delight. Staff, pupils, parents and Governors have all contributed greatly to this wonderful result. We celebrated by continuing our outstanding community cohesion with Jon and Lindsay, the Landlords at The Bull, as the children ate ice-cream and staff enjoyed a well deserved tea and coffee.”
