A HOODIE armed with a hammer demanded cash from the till at the Spar store in Loxdale Drive, Great Sutton during an attempted raid at 8.12pm on Friday.
The thief was confronted by a male member of staff who threw a beer can at him as he escaped empty handed.
The offender is described as 20-24 years old, 6ft tall, wearing a blue Adidas jacket, blue or black tracksuit bottoms, with a scarf wrapped around his face.
A gang of thugs threw snowballs and spat at a customer outside the Somerfield store in Hope Farm Road, Great Sutton at 4.30pm on Sunday.
