VOLUNTEERS who have put nearly 60 years of service to their Age Concern group in Chester have been recognised for their efforts.
Nancy White, Kath Lawler, both 79, and Ceilia Powell, 78, have helped out at the Age Concern centre at the United Reformed Church on Saughall Road, Blacon.
Mrs White and Mrs Lawler have each reached the 20 year mark while Ceilia has made the decision to retire after 18 years service.
This particular group is the only centre providing Alzheimer’s day care in Cheshire – a service which could become even more sought after with the proposed closure of Lightfoot Lodge.
The group caters for people aged 65 and over with the oldest regular being 95.
The three distinguished ladies were given presents and enjoyed a party thrown in their honour.
