THE Bird in Hand Pub and Restaurant at Guilden Sutton is having a facelift due to its success after being taken over back in September 2009.
The pub was on the brink of closing down before it gained new ownership last year and present licensee Lloyd Palmer said: “It has been fun to build it up a bit.”
The exterior refurbishment is due to be finished this month and the locals should expect to see a complete redecoration outside, window and roof repairs as well as new signage and decorative lights to enjoy over the festive season.
New menus and a takeaway system are also in play at the pub which is open for breakfast and lunches throughout the week.
Mr Palmer added: “It’s all good. We’re happy with the way it’s gone since we’ve taken over. With the new menu’s and refurbishment, it’s an exciting time for us.”
The Bird in Hand will remain open throughout the works, with a possible short close down due to interior refurbishment, likely to begin in January next year.
