GIRLS at The Queen’s School had a wild and wonderful day raising money for Red Nose Day last week.

Pupils and teachers played their part in collecting about £1,000 in the record-breaking charity fundraiser.

Students at the senior school had Wild and Wonderful theme for their Comic Relief non-uniform day and girls from the lower school on Liverpool Road held a Wacky Hair day.

Senior school teachers also put on a talent contest, which included Jake the Peg, a One Direction band, a dance number to The Time Warp and a rendition of ABBA’s Super Trouper by headteacher Sarah Clark and deputy headteacher Irene Jones – known on the day as FABBA.

Sixth-former Carys Chafer, who compèred the teacher talent show with Lauren Tenner, said: “It was a great event. I’m so pleased that it helped to raise so much money. There’s a lot of talent among the teaching staff, but I’m not sure that the stage is for all of them!”
