Dads of children at Kingsley St John’s CE Primary School were treated to lunch to celebrate Father’s Day.

There was an excellent turn out of dads and granddads following a similarly successful Mother’s Day lunch served in March, when all mums received a small favour of chocolate hearts.

Following a delicious sausage and mash lunch with apple crumble for dessert, prepared by school cook Karen Evans, the dads were presented with an England car flag as a thank you for giving up their time to visit the children in school and share their lunchtime.

Headteacher Rachel Jones, said: “This is what this school is all about. These occasions are very special for the children and will form lifelong, happy memories of their time with us.

“I would like to thank all those dads and granddads who were able to come along. We will look for more opportunities to do such collaboration in school.”
