Police have removed the body of a man from a house in Ellesmere Port.

The body was discovered at a property in Westminster Road at around 2pm today (November 24).

It is thought to have been in the building for a number of days, say police.

Specialist officers from the underwater search team attended the scene to help remove the body, which is said to have been in a state of decomposition.

The death is not being treated as suspicious, and the deceased’s next of kin are yet to be informed.

Force Control Inspector Richard Reeves, of Cheshire Constabulary, said: “Officers attended a report of a deceased male in Ellesmere Port.

“The male is believed to have been dead for a number of days. We are not treating it as suspicious.

“The underwater search team assisted with the removal of the body to the undertakers.”
