Police are trying to trace a man whose dog launched an unprovoked attack on another canine in Chester.

The man, described as being in his sixties with grey hair, is said to have used foul and abusive language to the owner of a passing dog after his grey lurcher attacked it at the landing stage area on Sandy Lane near the River Dee in the early evening of Monday (October 26).

Cheshire police said the attack was not provoked but are keen to speak to a male with a dog matching this description.
