IF YOU GO down to the woods today, you’re in for a big surprise.

After the successful prosecution reported in last weeks Chronicle of a man found guilty of outraging public decency in Little Budworth ‘Country Park,’ could someone from the council tell me who is responsible for the safety of walkers and children in this very popular walking area and the public toilets.

Complaints are made weekly about this area but are ignored by those responsible for the park.

Does Cheshire County Council have any responsibility for the park? Does Cheshire County Council have any responsibility under the lease they have, to patrol the area and keep the paths clear for the general public or have they abandoned all responsibilities?

Apart from a ranger being part-time until last June, no-one has done anything for the upkeep of the area. We have quad bikers, shooting and horse riding in forbidden areas.

I have two grandchildren away at school who walk with me when they come home for holidays and I have to explain to them that they cannot enter the toilets.

Most embarrassingly I feel that if this area is not overseen by a full-time ranger who is seen on a daily basis it will become a countryside slum.
