A SHOPKEEPER was threatened with a large knife during a robbery at Christleton Post Office.

The male staff member was not hurt during the incident which took place on Sunday at about 5pm.

Two men fled the scene on foot with a two-figure sum of money after they had demanded the shopkeeper hand over cash from the till.

The duo, a 23-year-old man from Warrington and a 19-year-old man local to the Chester area, were arrested shortly after the incident which took place at the Village Road store in Christleton.

Both men are currently in police custody and are awaiting interview.
