WESTERN Cheshire GP Out of Hours Service launches new patient telephone number.
NHS Western Cheshire guarantees access to a GP 24 hours a day, every day.
The Western Cheshire GP Out of Hours Service takes over, when GP practices close for the day, for patients with urgent medical problems that cannot wait.
It operates between 6.30pm and 8am and also at weekends and on Bank Holidays. This ensures that local people have access to the services they need, day or night.
The service is staffed by local GPs and highly qualified nurses who work on a rota basis.
The Western Cheshire GP Out of Hours Service Headquarters recently moved from St Martin’s Clinic in Chester to the Countess of Chester Health Park to provide excellent facilities for patients and staff including treatment rooms, waiting area and parking facilities.
If local people need a GP out of hours, they should dial the telephone number of their GP practice, where their call will be re-directed to the correct number.
Alternatively, people can call the new Out of Hours patient telephone number on 01244 385300 from July 1.
