A slip road on the M56 has had to close after a lorry overturned earlier this afternoon (November 23).

The HGV is thought to have come off the entry slip at junction 10 on the eastbound carriageway near Stretton and is now lying on the embankment, Cheshire police say.

A spokesman for the force said that at this stage there are not believed to be any serious injuries, and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and North West Motorway Police are also in attendance to assist with the recovery of the vehicle.

The incident, which happened shortly after 1.30pm, is causing slow traffic in the area of junction 10.

Normal traffic conditions are not expected to resume until 5.15pm, according to Highways England.
