LED Zeppelin rock legend Robert Plant and the Barbados Tourist Board are helping to raise money for the Lady Taverners in Cheshire.
The golf day to be held at Carden Park on Friday, April 20, has attracted sponsors including Iceland Frozen Foods, Michael Owens Manor House Stables, Kaye’s Jewellers, The Barbados Tourist Board, Sony Music and Boodles.
Now Led Zeppelin star Robert Plant has sent them one of his guitars for the auction, which will take place after the golf at a Caribbean inspired evening.
Organiser of the event Chris Talbot said: “Robert Plant was to have attended the golf day, sadly he cannot now be with us. However, he has sent a guitar along with a photo of him signing it by way of authentication.
“Sony Music have given us two tickets to the sold out concert of One Direction at the 02 Arena in February, these tickets are like gold.
“Barbados Tourist Board are providing a holiday on the island. Manchester based Natural Retreats have donated week in a luxury lodge for six people.”
The golf day is dedicated to Baroness Rachael Heyhoe-Flint as a thank you for all the work she has done for the charity. She is a board member at her beloved Wolves along with Robert Plant.”
