THE final concert of a city band has signalled the end of an era.
After 43 years of playing music from the swing era, the Bryan Jones Big Band played their last note last month.
The concert, at Cheshire View in Christleton, was a celebration of the band’s achievements over the years.
Despite his declining health, band leader Bryan Jones attended the concert, which was led by his son Roger, himself a former Royal Marines band master.
Hosted by the Rotary Club of South Wirral, the concert raised in excess of £600 for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.
