A KELSALL couple have been making designs on this year’s Celebrity Big Brother house.
Adrian and Bianca Latham’s webbased company, The Furniture Market, has been going from strength to strength since it started trading in 2005, so when they were asked by the Channel 5 show’s producers if they would donate some of their furniture for this year’s celebrity show they jumped at the chance.
The show, which is this year featuring celebrities including Hollywood star Michael Madsen and TV actress Denise Welch, requested 13 of the store’s lacquered black bedside cabinets for the bedroom of the famous house.
The elegant French-style table, complete with crystal handles and priced at £279 each, can clearly be seen on each episode of Celebrity Big Brother, which attracted 3.5 million viewers on its opening night.
Bianca, 31, who designs the store‘s furniture with Adrian, also 31, said it was ‘a privilege’ to see their furniture shown on national television every night.
“It’s a very proud moment within the company and it’s always exciting to get your furniture publicised, especially when celebrities are involved,” she said.
“We had actually been asked by the producers in the past to provide furniture for the show but we couldn’t always afford to do so.
“But it is a privilege to do it now and it’s great they have found the style they wanted for the bedroom.”
The couple, originally from Tattenhall, were specially invited to the Big Brother house before the celebrities moved in, to see for themselves how their furniture had been put to use.
“It was very surreal to go down there having watched the house on TV so many times before,” said Bianca.
“I had to pinch myself! We saw Brian Dowling doing a sound check, had a look around and met some of the other suppliers, and I sat in the diary room chair – it was great!”
