A DIRT track racing club is celebrating after a Chester insurance broker saved them from cancelling their series.
Prestatyn Circuit dirt motor racing club faced closure for the first time in 25 years after failing to find an insurance company for this year.
Club member Chris Patterson said: “We’re a really popular club but with ever tighter regulation we were finding it really tough to find insurance in time for the start of the new season.
“We were faced with the possibility of not having a proper 2009 season, which would have been disastrous for the club. We weren’t sure what to do next, so we put the word around to as many people as possible in the hope that someone could help.” Š
Insurance broker Daulby Read, of Watergate Street, Chester, raced to the rescue of the Prestatyn Circuit.
Account Executive Gary Durkin of Daulby Read said: “Dirt track racing has always been close to my heart. When I was a child Šmy uncle used to race and the whole family went along to support him so Šwhen I heard Prestatyn Circuit was in trouble, I gave them a ring straightaway to see if we could help.
“I’m delighted to say we were able to source public and employee liability insurance which met their needs.”
Dirt racer Chris added: “Sorting out our insurance means we’re now up and running for another year with a jam-packed programme of events.”
