A POPULAR indie band whose lead singer lives in Tattenhall, are reforming for a one-off Christmas concert.

Nineties Liverpool group Space will be returning to their home-town to play a special Christmas show on Thursday December 22 at the 02 Academy.

All the original members of the band, whose most famous hits include Female of the Species and Avenging Angels, will feature, with the notable exception of drummer Andy Parle, who died suddenly in 2009.

Lead vocalist and songwriter Tommy Scott moved to Tattenhall in 2008.

He formed punk band The Drellas shortly after Space split up, later changing their name to The Red Scare.

The group played to huge crowds at the Chester Rocks festival this summer, which seems to have sparked off some sort of nostalgia.

Tommy said: “We can't wait to play Liverpool again as Space. I started to play the Space songs again this summer and it just feels right to give it a go again.”

Tickets for the homecoming gig are £12.50 and are available from www.ticketweb.co.uk or by calling 0844 477 2000.
