INFANTS from Helsby Horns Mill Primary School performed a nativity play to their families at St Paul’s Church to celebrate Christmas.
Year 1 and Year 2 pupils of the Denbigh Close school performed Happy Birthday Jesus to a packed St Paul’s Church last Thursday at 5.30pm.
Deputy headteacher Jonathan Melville said: “It took place last Thursday at St Paul’s Church.
“There were loads of families there and the church was full.
“It was absolutely wonderful, a really good performance and the children loved it.
“They really stepped up to the mark and all their hard work paid off.
“Everyone’s worked really hard, the staff in the school who had a lot of support from the parents too.”
With many primary schools performing their Christmas plays in their schools, Horns Mill wanted to take its nativity to the community.
“We wanted a venue where a lot of people could come and celebrate with us,” added Mr Melville.
“We thought it would be lovely to do something in the community, with a lot of family members watching.
“It’s a great way of reminding ourselves of the true meaning of Christmas.”
