A FAMILY doctor is retiring after 38 years treating the communities of Frodsham and Helsby.
Dr John Leneghan has been at The Knoll Surgery, High Street, Frodsham, since February 14, 1972, making him western Cheshire’s longest serving GP.
Practice manager Paul Smith has lead the messages.
He said: “We are very sorry to announce the retirement of our longest serving GP.
“We are sure you will all join with the staff, management and partners here at the Knoll in wishing Dr Leneghan a long, healthy and happy retirement.
“Since joining the practice, Dr Leneghan has been the mainstay of the practice, a caring and compassionate clinician with a wonderful sense of humour, a prerequisite for all Bolton Wonderers supporters.
“A quite and unassuming gentleman in the truest sense of the word Dr Leneghan does not like to be the centre of attention.
“However if any patients have any fond memories they would like to share, we will collect them altogether and present them to Dr Leneghan.”
If you would like to add your memories, email the practice website at www.theknollsurgery.co.uk or write to Paul Smith at the practice.
