It is September and children and young people all over Chester are starting school for the first time.
We asked readers, Facebook fans and Twitter followers to send in photographs of their young ones in school uniform heading off for that all important first day at primary school or secondary school this week.
Matt Larkin (@frodshamlarkins) tweeted us a lovely photograph of Charlie starting reception class with Joseph, heading to Year 3 and Aidan entering his final year at St Luke‘s Catholic Primary School in Frodsham.
Little Isla Carswell-Peers is the third generation of her family to go to Guilden Sutton Primary School where she will no doubt meet her namesake Isla Hankinson, who also joins the school this week.
And Matilda Thomas, four, was well prepared with a new bag and drinks bottle to join big brother Hugo, also at Guilden Sutton.
Another little girl hoping for a helping hand from her big brother was Abigail Currie. Abigail started in reception at Cherry Grove Primary School where brother Owen will be in Year 2.
Amy-Louise Reed sent us a photograph of her son Alfie, proudly sporting his new uniform on his first day of reception at Highfield Primary School in Blacon.
Claire Hodgson emailed a photograph of daughter Beth clutching her new school bag ready for work at Elton Primary School.
Little sister Freya Baker looks a little bit envious of her big sister Ruby as she strides out for her first day at Huntington Primary School.
Going to secondary school for the first time is also a big day in any child’s life and proud mums Pauline Barnes and Sian Brett posted photographs of their children on Facebook.
Pauline’s daughter Martha Mulliner looked smart in her King’s School uniform and Harvey Brett was all smiles ready to join sister Olivia and brother Elliot at Chester Catholic High School.
If you would like to see your child’s photograph in the paper, email your ‘first day’ photographs to firstname.lastname@example.org, tweet @ChesterChron or post on the Chester Chronicle Facebook page. Give their name and the school they are attending.
