FRODSHAM will host a new football festival which could pave the way for a state-of-the-art sports facility to be built in the village.

That is the ultimate aim of Ryan Edghill and Mark Rowland who have spent months working with the Frodsham Foundation to organise the Festival of Veterans Football which they hope will raise vital funds to improve sporting facilities in the village.

The free event, held on August 31 from 9am-9pm, will feature something for everyone, including live bands, children’s activities, a barbecue, beer tent, stalls and other attractions.

Sixteen teams from across the North West will compete for a coveted trophy at the festival, which Ryan and Mark hope will be the first step in making massive improvements to sporting facilities in Frodsham.
