A FORMER breast cancer patient has organised a talent contest to raise funds for the hospital that treated her.
Three years ago Tiz Corcoran from Tattenhall received the terrifying news that she was suffering from breast cancer.
Now back in good health, Tiz wants to show her appreciation for the kindness and care she received during and after her treatment by raising funds for the Countess of Chester Hospital’s breast cancer unit and the national Breast Cancer Campaign.
Tiz, 50, said: “I wanted to raise money by organising some- thing that would be good fun and could be enjoyed by all ages while raising as much money as possible for two worthy causes.”
Tiz is an active and keen member of Tattenhall Amateur Dramatics Society so her thoughts turned to a talent show for Tattenhall and surrounding districts.
This is now to be held on October 2. All those in the area from the age of seven can pick up an entry form from Village Greens in Tattenhall. All the contestants will perform to an audience and a specially selected team of judges.
The talent contest will be divided into two groups – one for those aged seven-17 and one for those aged 18 and over.
The winners from the two categories will be invited to perform at a gala evening on October 16.
Both events are, appropriately, being held in Breast Cancer Awareness month.
The deadline for entries is early September.
Tickets for each event will be on sale at Tattenhall Post Office from September. You can also find out more details about the contest and gala evening by calling 01829 781167.
