A LIVERPOOL woman has thanked an Ellesmere Port couple who found her kitten which went missing in the town for nearly a week.
Yvonne Watts spent a frantic few days searching for 15-month-old Ellie after she inadvertently travelled to the town after climbing into a van in her home town of Everton. Yvonne travelled to Ellesmere Port every night, distributing leaflets and knocking on doors in the hope of finding Ellie.
Eventually a couple living in Wellesley Avenue phoned Yvonne last Friday evening after spotting what they thought was Ellie, sitting on a wall outside their house.
Yvonne said: `As soon as I got the call, a friend and I dashed over to Ellesmere Port. The couple had managed to entice Ellie into their garage where she remained until we arrived about 9pm.
`I called her name but seeing so many people she panicked and ran into the road.'
Yvonne added: `But I managed to retrieve her because I brought one of her favourite meals with me - prawns.
`We then put her in a pillow slip and then into a cage in the car.'
And despite being homeless for nearly a week Ellie is now safely back home with Yvonne in Everton.
