AMERICAN viola player Joanna Johnson, Chester’s People to People exchange student, visited The King’s School Junior School to play at their assembly.

Joanna, from Lakewood, Colorado, had been on a two-week concert tour of the city. The young musician took time out of her busy schedule to visit junior school and to give an insight into her love of the viola.

Chester’s People to People exchange offers the chance for a talented young Cestrian musician and one from Lakewood, Colorado to promote their talents on either side of the Atlantic on an all expenses paid concert tour.

King’s has been represented in Lakewood by Chester pianist Fearghal O’Mahony. He was a pupil at King’s several years ago and has gone on to pursue a career in music as a professional pianist.
