A Church of England primary school is gold standard when it comes to teaching children about religion.

Eccleston CE Primary School is the only school in Chester to be awarded the Gold Standard for the Quality Mark in RE this year out of only 14 schools nationwide.

Headteacher Katie Wilkies said: “We are delighted that our hard work in creating innovative and motivating RE at Eccleston CE Primary school has been recognised.

“As a church school, we strive to ensure all the children have an excellent knowledge of the main world religions and plenty of opportunity to discuss, listen, and voice their own opinions.”
