PEOPLE will be able to find out more about the proposed Northgate Development at the next One City Plan drop-in event taking place on Tuesday, December 11, in the town hall.

The development is part of the wider One City Plan with the site, alongside Chester Town Hall and next to the proposed new theatre and library, reserved for ‘significant new retail development’, along with leisure and a new market.

Described as ‘critical to the future economic success of Chester’ it is hoped the development will create around 1,600 permanent jobs, plus construction jobs, an annual increased spend in the city of £143m and additional rates of around £8m.

A model of the scheme, together with further drawings and images, is currently on display on the ground floor of the Forum in the borough council’s customer contact centre until January 11.

They will also be on display at the drop in and the council’s design team will be available to answer questions.

The event will take place from 4.30-6.30pm in the Palatine Room at the town hall.
